Fall 2026 Early Arrival Move-In
Summer Transition Students
If living on-campus for the Summer until August 21 and living on-campus for the Fall 2026 semester you will receive an email in early August with transition instructions.
UConn Hartford Campus Student
There are no early arrival options for UConn Harford Campus students for Fall 2026 due to the preparation of our new building’s opening. Student’s needing to be in the Hartford area prior to the designated move in dates will need to find alternative arrangements until their official move in date.
Group Early Arrival
If part of an approved group to arrive early, you will receive an email on how to check-in through the office of Residential Life the week of August 21. Not sure if you are part of an approved group? Please reach out directly to the staff or faculty member that coordinates your group.
Individual Early Arrival
If you need to move in early as an individual you will be able to apply to arrive on one of the following days August 25, 27 or 28. The application process will take place from July 6 – August 14. To request access to the individual early arrival request form, please email uconnearlyarrival@uconn.edu after July 6 for access. Please note that requests for access may take up to 72 business hours to complete.

Are you approved for early arrival and want to know what time you can arrive? If you are arriving as part of a group you will be sent an email to sign up for a time the week of August 21. If you are arriving as an approved individual, you will be sent an email to sign up for a time also the week of August 21.
Students will receive a sign-up time email that will allow them to sign up for an hour block on the day based on the information above. There is a limit for traffic control on-campus of how many people can come in an hour so not all times are available for all students.

Sign up for Fall Move-In

Important Information about Move-In Weekend:
- Students must be mindful of time when unloading their vehicle as others need to unload as well. Vehicles will need to be unloaded to the curb or designated space. Vehicles will need to be moved away from the building after unloading to a designated lot in order to provide spaces for others to unload.
- Only one vehicle is allowed to come to the stagging lot and unload area. If you have a second vehicle that will need to come after 3:00pm on your day of move-in to unload.
- Students should bring their own hand truck or dolly to assist with carrying items into their residential area. UConn will not be providing carts/dollies or volunteers to help move during fall 2026.
- Please be aware that student mailrooms will not be open until the first day of classes, August 31. You should make sure to bring with you what you need until Friday September 4.

Long Term Parking
Parking lots that should be used for long term parking after you unload your vehicle at the un-load zone. Un-Load areas are meant for 5-10 minutes of parking before you should move your vehicle to a long-term parking lot.

Saturday January 17
- All students returning to their same room as the fall semester can begin to arrive back at 7:00am for the spring semester. Students will have to complete a self-check-in process in their My Housing in order to gain access to the residence halls.
- All students that are moving into the Oaks on the Square for the Spring semester and did not live there for the fall (Mid-Year Room Changes, New to campus housing students) will be able to move in on Saturday January 17, 2026 from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
Sunday January 18 from 9:00am to 5:00pm
- All students that are going to a new room for the spring semester outside of the Oaks on the Square (Mid-Year Room Changes, New to campus housing students) will go to the Charter Oak Community Center to pick up their keys and be checked in. From there students will proceed to their Residence Hall to move in.
